Our partnership with The Bananaland to create the Colorful Bridgeport marketing and placemaking campaign has meant everything to establishing Downtown Bridgeport as a desirable destination based upon its recognizable, distinct identity. The Bananaland's work allowed us platform to celebrate Bridgeport’s vibrancy, diverse tapestry of business owners and residents, and the legacy of its history. From illustrated and video content, to formats for beautification and event volunteers give time, to a robust public art program; the Colorful Bridgeport program is so strong because it is entirely created with and by the community members it was intended to serve. We could not have accomplished any of the progress towards revitalizing the neighborhood that we have achieved without the creative support of The Bananaland on this endeavor. The Colorful Bridgeport campaign has literally transformed the neighborhood.
